Pickup from NJP airport/railway station and drive to Okhery Village
Two options exist for Day 2 - either a trek to Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary or trek to Ghorkey Valley
Today sees us going back to Okhery and we have the day free at out leisure to go around
A 5 point local tour of the village is planned
Departure from Okhery back to NJP
Pick up from NJP or Bagdogra to Okhery West Sikkim (6.7 HRS, 130Km)
"Meet & Greet" with our company representative on arrival at NJP / Bagdogra and drive to Okhrey West Sikkim. It takes 6-7 hrs to reach. Okhrey is a small picturesque village. Night stay at a homestay.
Morning Drive to Hilley
A short drive of 30 mins (8kms) from Okhrey to Hilley gets you to the starting point of the trek, Hilley. The trek commences with a gentle walk through a mix of bamboo and Barsey rhododendron sanctuary (4.5kms) teeming with birds.
Lunch at Barsey.
In Barsey you will enjoy the view of Mt.Kanchenjunga and natural beauty.
Night stay at Barsey accommodation (tent or dormitory).
Day-2 After breakfast drive to Bhorang and trek to Ghorkhey valley. It is a beautiful small village at the confluence of two river Gorkhey and Rammam.
The greenery of the forest and the natural beauty of the small village takes you away to another world.
Lunch at Samuden and Night stay at homestay.
A leisure day Okhery
Breakfast from our respective location and back to the same homestay at Okhrey. After lunch you can spend your leisure time at the local area by walking and hiking in the village.
A tour of Okhery
Strolling around the village to get to know the lifestyles and tradition of the villagers is a worth doing activity. Lunch at homestay and evening time bonfire with dinner, while enjoying the serenity of nature is going to be a lifetime memory. Last night in homestay.
Back to NJP
After breakfast drive from Okhrey to NJP / Bagdogra ( 6-7 hr. ) for your onward journey. You enjoy enroute sightseeing.
