Short Itinerary

Fasten your backpack, step on the gas and let your motorcycle be your most trusted companion on your Ladakh bike trip. This adventurous journey passes through some of the most breath-taking, challenging and awe-inspiring landscapes found on Earth.

Day 1 - Chandigarh to Jammu

Get an early start from Delhi. Today's distance travelled will be about 370 kilometres with a travel time of 7 hours. Roads are mostly good with a few bad patches between Pathankot and Jammu.

Day 2 - Jammu to Srinagar

Traffic delays and jams are common on this route, so we start early again. Distance travelled will be about 270 kilometres with a travel time of 11 to 12 hours.

Day 3 - Srinagar Local Visit

We take a local tour of Srinagar, with shikara rides on the Dal Lake and a visit to local monuments in Srinagar.

Today is also used as a buffer day.

Day 4 - Srinagar to Kargil

The scenery will transform slowly from lush green of Kashmir to barren brown of Ladakh. We cross the famed Zojila Pass today, the physical frontier between the lush Kashmir Valley and the barren Ladakh.

Distance travelled will be about 200 kilometres with a travel time of 8 to 9 hours. We visit the Kargil War Memorial in Dras.

Day 5 - Kargil to Leh

Distance travelled will be about 220 Kilometers with a travel Time of 7 to 8 hours.
There are a lot of places to see on this stretch including Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Mulbekh Maitreya, Indus Zanskar Confluence etc.

Day 6 - Leh

We spend the day in Leh City visiting local attractions in Leh city like Leh palace, local market, Shanti Stupa etc.

Day 7 - Leh to Diskit

The crowing stone of the entire ride, we cross the highest motorable road in the world - Khardung La today.  We start early from Leh to ride to Nubra Valley, at the foot of the Siachen Glacier, crossing the Khardung La.

Total Distance of 120 kilometres with a total travel time of 6 to 7 hours.

We visit the Diskit Monastery, and the Hunder Sand Dunes today.

Day 8  - Diskit to Pangong via Shyok

Almost everyone rides to Pangong from Nubra Valley via Khardung La again, but this leaves the Shyok river road untouched by the masses and that is what we will be taking today.

The road curves along the Shyok valley, surrounded on all sides by towering rock faces ready to gobble you up at the slightest distractions.

After a mersmerising ride through the Shyok Valley, the first glimpse of Pangong Lake is bound to bring joy to anyone.

Total 190 kilometres to be covered with a travel time of 6 to 7 hours.

Day 9 - Buffer day at Pangong Lake

Today is a buffer day at Pangong Lake to rest our tired muscles and relieve saddle sores, and also to catch up on lost times and missed schedules if any.

Day 10 - Pangong to Leh

We cross the second highest pass on our journey - the Chang La, while riding from Pangong towards Leh. We pass by the highest military installations along the road in a heavily militarised area.

The road is mostly good with a really bad patch around Chang La top.

Travel time of 8 to 9 hours

Overnight stay in Leh

Day 11 - Leh to Sarchu

With almost 2/3rds of the ride completed, we start our descent out of the Himalayas by taking the Manali road to Chandigarh.

We cross the high altitude pass of Tanglang La and drive across More Plains today.

Distance travelled will be about 250 Kilometers
Travel time of 7 to 8 hours

Overnight stay at Sarchu

Day 12 - Sarchu to Manali

A day of passes, we reach Manali while crossing the 4 high altitude passes of Nakee La, Lachulung La, Baralacha La and Rohtang La.

A total distance of 220 kilometres from Sarchu
Travel time of 9 to 10 hours

Overnight in Manali

Day 13 - Manali to Chandigarh

A total distance of 300 kilometres with a travel time of 9 hours, we reach Chandigarh to finish off the ride, and top it up with a party in style in Chandigarh.

What to Carry?

Mandatory Carry

  1. A full-face helmet (flip or non-flip model) (for both rider and pillion) / A helmet will be provided with bike rental but expect it to not fit and carry your own helmet for safety and hygiene purposes

  2. Backpack / Saddle Bag (DO NOT BRING SUITCASES) as all luggage will be bike borne and needs to be tied to the bike - aound 60litre capacity

  3. Head scarf / bandana / do-tag

  4. Sunglasses

  5. Mask to protect the face while riding

  6. Moisturiser 

  7. Water Bottles - 2 to 3 litre capacity

  8. Waste Bag (you can bring anything that you can use to carry your waste)
