Day 0:

Departure is from Nampally, Begumpet, and Lingampally railway stations at 2000hrs. Travel is by sleeper class on the Hyderabad-Mumbai Express.

Day 1:

We arrive in Karjat Station and have lunch. Post lunch, we catch a local to Vangani railway station, from which we take an auto to the base village - Bedisgaon.

The trek starts from Bedisgaon, and is fairly easy with no steep ascents. We reach the base camp at Waghinichi-Wadi and set up camp in the hamlet. Dinner is homecooked from the village and served hot, local style.

The night is spent with campfire, and camp activities like ghost stories and antyakshari.

Day 2:

We wake up at sunrise, and start the summit trek leaving most of the luggage in the camp and carrying only the essentials. It is a 3 hour trek to the summit through dense forests and steep ascent. Today is a little challenging for the beginner trekker, but gives an immense sense of achievement from the summit with nearby peaks like Kalavantin, Chanderi, Peb, and Matheran being visible.

By 1000hrs, we return to the base camp, have breakfast, pack up camp, and head back to Vangani station to catch the return Mumbai Express from Karjat.

Day 3:

The Mumbai Express reaches Hyderabad at 0600hrs.
